Use this checklist before installing a Nox plugin. You need access to your server files, console, and plugin-specific requirements. Stop the server before replacing plugin jars.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Back up your world and plugin configuration.
- Check the plugin’s required Java version, server software, and dependencies.
- Use the plugin jar intended for your server; an API jar is for developers.
- Prepare a test server with the same versions as production.
Install
Section titled “Install”- Stop the test server cleanly.
- Place the plugin and its required dependencies in
plugins/. - Start the server and read the complete startup log.
- If the plugin generates configuration, stop the server and review it.
- Apply settings described in the plugin documentation and start again.
Avoid using a plugin hot-loader for first installation. A clean restart gives dependencies a predictable startup order.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Check that the plugin enables without errors. Test the documented basic action with a regular player account as well as an administrator account. If it fails, use the troubleshooting checklist.
